The name Masriera and the art and culture In Barcelona in the 19th and 20th centuries are inseparable. In the early 1900s, a third generation jeweler, Lluis Masriera, began creating designs in the Catalan Modernism style. His flora, fauna, and female form designs were created using steel molds, because of his foresight, these same molds are still used today for the reproduction of pieces in 18k gold. Masriera’s iconic jewelry was revolutionary with its magical fusion of nature and woman, spawning the fairies and nymphs known today.
